East of the Middle

“Food can bring people together in a way nothing else could.”

-Yotam Ottolenghi

For East of the Middle, chefs Shane Yardley and Rob Forsman were back in the kitchen to bring the flavours of Arabia to our diners plates. Our chefs interpreted the enigmas of the East, by blending modern techniques with traditional flavours and delectable food.

WHAT WAS ON THE MENU?

Mezze – humus – preserved lemon beets – turmeric dukka – onion jam

Shish barak – caramelised garlic yogurt – saffron oil

88 degree carrot – pistachio tarator – green tahini – pickled raisins

Baraharat lamb rump – baba ganoush – date and kumura frekkah

Nitro Moroccan mint tea

Turkish delight awwami – orange blossom and baklava ice cream – rosewater gel – pashmak

Best dinner yet, fabulous styling, to die for food, immerse yourself in the Middle East and prepare to be wowed! If you’re on the fence, just go, these events just keep getting better!

One of the best food experiences I’ve had in New Zealand. Absolutely everything was on point – the comms, the food, the wine pairing, the service, the styling….it was all fantastic! We will become regulars!

One of the best foodie experiences attending Kitchen Takeover. I’ve been to five now! I love the ambience, food and secret location. Thanks for giving us this amazing opportunity to try the different foods in an awesome setting.
