Taiao: Food Of the Gods

Kitchen Takeover first-ever pop up restaurant collaboration with celebrity chefs Karena and Kasey Bird was held from 25 February to 24 April. The Taiao edition bought a deeply cultural, locally-inspired fine-dining feast created by two of New Zealand’s culinary superstars. 

What was on the menu?

Smoked eel –  creamed watercress – charcoal – potato

Koura – kewpie – karengo beurre blanc – brioche
Kūmara brulee – White miso – Mānuka honey – Pūhā verde
Smoked Duck – Stuffing – Balsamic cherry jus
Kawakawa – Apple – Mint
Steamed pudding – earl grey custard- Horopito berries
