Kitchen Takeover
Taiao: Food Of the Gods

Taiao: Food of the Gods pop-up delivered a deeply cultural, locally-inspired fine-dining feast designed by Masterchefs Kārena & Kasey Bird. 

The menu drew inspiration from from their whakapapa and upbringing. Celebrating the Māori deities of the natural world through a six-course degustation dinner. A truly immersive experience, each mouth-watering moment inspired by Atua Māori and the Taiao. 

What was on the menu?

Smoked eel –  creamed watercress – charcoal – potato

Koura – kewpie – karengo beurre blanc – brioche
 
Rongomātāne
Kūmara brulee – White miso – Mānuka honey – Pūhā verde
 
Tānemāhuta
Smoked Duck – Stuffing – Balsamic cherry jus
 
Tāwhirimātea
Kawakawa – Apple – Mint
 
Papatūānuku
Steamed pudding – earl grey custard- Horopito berries
