It’s with a heavy heart I have taken the incredibly difficult decision to cancel our Hunter Gatherer events from 19th - 28th March.
When I started Kitchen Takeover, I did so because I wanted to bring passionate foodies together to eat envelope-pushing food, experience new places and turn strangers into friends. Every event we hold takes months to plan and an incredible amount of time and love goes into each one from our passionate and committed team.
With the announcement of four new cases of Covid-19 yesterday, the risk associated with the event is too great to continue. Your safety is all that really matters to me. I want you to come to my pop-up feeling excited and liberated, not scared and uncertain. I do not believe under the current circumstances I can be 100% sure of your safety if we go ahead based on the communal dining concept and that’s why I have decided to cancel it.
I know how many of you were looking forward to this event. We will hold it again as soon as it is safe to do so. We will be posting regularly on our plans and will let you know as soon we have a new date in the diary. Your ticket is automatically transferable to the new Hunter Gatherer series. We will not be issuing refunds at this time.
Thanks for your understanding. I can only promise you that when the event does happen, it’s going to be one hell of a meal!
If you have any questions please reply to this email and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as I can.
With the outbreak of Coronavirus, we wanted to let you know that we are monitoring the situation closely. Our utmost priority is your safety.
At this point our events will go ahead. However, we will adhere to all government and local authority advice about hosting events and will update you if the situation changes on a day-to-day basis.
For all 'Hunter Gatherer' events taking place from Thursday 19th March - Saturday the 28th March, the following additional safety precautions are being put in place:
1/ Anyone who is feeling unwell or has family members with flu-like symptoms, please do not come to the event. The ticket is transferrable to another person and we are happy to welcome a friend or family member in your absence.
2/ If you have travelled outside New Zealand and re-entered the country as of midnight Sunday 15th March, please do not come to the event. The ticket is transferrable to another person and we are happy to welcome a friend or family member in your absence.
3/ We have sought professional advice and are putting extra measures in place to ensure strict food safety practices and procedures.
4/ We have additional staff on hand should any of our staff be unable to attend due to illness.
5/ All attendees will be asked to wash their hands when entering the event and hand sanitiser/hand washing facilities will be available and we encourage you to use this at regular intervals throughout the evening.
6/ Tissues will be available at the event and we encourage all diners to follow Ministry of Health of guidelines about sneezing/coughing.
7/ We are also following the guidance from Ministry of Health regarding venue cleanliness.
If we are advised to cancel any of our events, we will reschedule for a later date. If you are unable to attend the revised date, we will offer you a full refund.
However at this stage, we are really looking forward to delivering our 'Hunter Gatherer' edition that we have been working on lovingly for several months.
If you have any questions at all about the above information, or about our Restaurant from Mount Maunganui please do not hesitate to get in touch by responding to this email or contacting me direct on 022 369 8334.
